powerlines
but a lack of energy
behind the computer screen
a tear;
strain not sorrow
later the book
told me to shut it:
"dude stop whining"
a melancholy melody
dropped its notes
like a bomb
like a Vietnamese
I smashed a cricket
12:22 a.m.
I forgot physics
and the night sky disappointed me

Well, I wrote haiku for almost two years before I decided to achieve them on a blog. I usually post from newer to older. So basically, if I feel like I haven't been updating I just look through some old notebooks and post an older one from them. I write in spurts, so one week i'll write like 4 and then ill go two weeks without writing one. This is because I dont like to force them, but sometimes I have to force one, just to get back on track again.
If you are referring to my latest post, it isn't a compilation of haiku, it’s a poem with loosely connected haiku-ish verses. My haiku are all 5-7-5 and I post "Haiku" in bold on the top.
My themes started off as mostly dealing with love, angst, and later moved on to nature, deflated expectations, problems with modern life, and now im fixated on simple but extremely complicated and nuanced haiku and verse. The "little-lizard haiku" and "Spring Twilight" are examples of those. Thats not to say that I dont like to let loose with a couple haiku about staying out late and other aspects of the college life or "experience."
Thats about it, I appreciate your interest.
